What Are Nanobubbles?
Nanobubbles are gas bubbles with diameters smaller than 100 nanometers — roughly one-thousandth the width of a human hair. At this scale, the physical laws governing conventional bubbles break down entirely.
Unlike macro or micro bubbles that rise and escape water within seconds, nanobubbles carry a strong negative surface charge that keeps them suspended in stable equilibrium for weeks or even months.
This extraordinary stability allows them to continuously release their gaseous content — typically oxygen — into the surrounding liquid, creating an environment fundamentally different from untreated water.

The bubble surface carries a strong negative charge (−30 to −50 mV), creating electrostatic repulsion that prevents coalescence and dissolution — the primary stability mechanism.
Nano-scale curvature creates immense internal pressure, greatly enhancing the solubility of the entrapped gas — driving oxygen deep into the liquid phase at supersaturation levels.
The charged bubble surface actively attracts and traps positively charged contaminants and bacteria — functioning as a natural, chemical-free purification agent throughout the water column.
How Nanobubbles
Behave in Water
At 100nm and below, fluid dynamics changes profoundly. The internal gas pressure within a nanobubble is orders of magnitude higher than that of a standard bubble — a consequence of the Laplace-Young equation at the nanoscale.
This elevated internal pressure drives the gas into supersaturation with the surrounding liquid, enabling dissolved oxygen concentrations 2 to 3 times above standard saturation limits — without pressurized tanks or chemical additives.
The bubble's negative zeta potential makes it behave like a mobile purification unit — attracting, surrounding, and neutralizing pathogens and suspended particles throughout the water column.
